The strategic university program (SUP) on Control, Information and Communication Systems for Environmental and Safety Critical Systems will develop emerging and enabling technology for environmentally sustainable resources management and utilization. This includes control, information and communication systems for environmental surveillance, spill detection and subsea repair, as well as new technology for renewable energy sources, thus bringing new advanced theory into practice in targeted applications. By utilizing and further developing advanced Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in important applications, the project will contribute to the strategic initiatives of NTNU, and to increased international competitiveness of Norwegian industries such as marine and maritime industry, oil and gas industry, and sustainable energy production and processing.
